the beach in November???

Myles took a dive for the cupcakes before we left, I dont blame him they were amazing. Lins and her mom are the best little bakers!

Saturday was the most beautiful day, we went to San Onofre for Mitch Lundquist Birthday party. We lived next door to them in Hawaii and became instant friends.

This is Willies 2nd time surfing for the day, his face says it all.

Myles loved throwing rocks in the water with his friend Micah

Sorry for the dark pics, I clearly need to work on my photo skills. Its actually pretty funny though because Mitch goes by " black Mitch"

I really cant believe how warm it has been. It's great to be able to have a all day beach day in the end of November, what a beautiful place to live.

We are truly saddened by the people who have been effected by all the fires in Southern California. We have been watching the news unfold with new areas effected. It really makes me grateful for the roof over our heads. I know people who had to evacuate their homes with no notice. I have wondered what I would grab with 10 minutes notice. What is most precious to me? What am I doing to be "Prepared"??

As the Holidays get closer, my heart is always full of more Gratitude. I don't know if its because people are nicer or the coming together as families, perhaps doing neat service projects in church. Whatever it is I am reminded of what is most important in life- Am I a good friend, mother, wife, sister, daughter, and leader? What am I doing to instill good attributes to my son, What kind of a mom do I want to be? How am I using my talents I have been given? I try to think about what I'm thankful for instead of what I need. I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving and enjoys being with those you love.

Amen. I have just been so grateful that all my kids have a roof over their heads and jobs.My motto is
"2008, weren't all that great 2009 we'll be just fine. 2010 We'll just begin again"
I still think we have a few lean years before we recover from this economy crisis but life is all about the learning.

I love this uplifting post! First of all, you are so cute in that skirt and I am jealous you are at the beach in November when we just had our first snow. Secondly, your boy is so cute and getting so big! Lastly, I love that you are always trying to better yourself- that is what life is about!

You are way too cute! I love that happy post. I feel like I've been so close to bursting into tears with this constant pit in my stomach..between the fires and the protests right outside my church building and house. Crazy days...and I'm not prepared!

What a fun little outing!! How fun for myles to grow up by the beach. I just look at the picture of myles casually throwing rocks in the water and think that with Clark it would be a different story...he would probably go running head first into the waves to be engulfed and carried away! So glad you are coming in december...Clark can hardly wait for the waites! :)

Rach, you really said it well indeed. I need to remind myself every minute not to dwell on the negative and look closely at how blessed my family and everyone else around me is constantly watched over. Who cares if Patrick has to get back surgery for the 2nd time in January, we all have trials and it is how we handle them that is the Big test....

It makes me really happy to see Willie at the two happiest places on Earth. Myles is loving the sun, and his hair hair has grown like a weed in the past month, I love it! You beach babes all look so great, wish we all lived there to enjoy the gorgeous waves and sunsets.

As of last night I guess we are in AZ now for Christmas... Who knows it could change tomorrow. Its up to the captain.

What a fabulous day y'all had! In November. At the beach. Not fair. And to think of the thousands of people that are homeless now. Thanks for your inspiring words on gratitude.

Rachel, you are one hot mama! And I am friends with Lindsay too, small world.

I too have been feeling very grateful lately. It is so sad the tragedy that people so near to us are going through with those fires. Scary. I love the holiday season though, it always reminds us to give and be thankful, and celebrate with family and friends.
